Belinda played great and so did Caro, but Belinda was not short on the returns and created some fabulous game whereas Caro was inconsistent throughout HER part of the game and the things she didn't think to do. She doesn't want to step back to have time to recover and I agree most of the time on the second serve it pretty much does the work when you're above the line but when the opponent is serving wide on the corners with great speed or kick you have to be in sync with the rhythm in which you really engage, and through the very first shot. Not making unforced errors when you have time to prepare and focus on the shot selection, doing slices to break the momentum and change through defensive to attack whether you're a hitter or a tactician, be prepared. Caro had a great tennis but she didn't win the crucial points and the weak ones, and I hope she takes that into consideration because she has the potential to win a slam, however, do not let your guard down and your inner little demons get to you. Top 10 match with positive to take from both!
@Sylvain White No offence to Gasquet but he was never in the same league of Tsonga, on the other hand Garcia has already won two masters last year, to me this is her time, I actually thought she would win the USO last year after the way she stormed into the semis straight setting everyone, then was clueless in the semis, to me that's one thing she needs to improve, the tactical game. She needs to try things differently in the second set when things are not going her way, has to have a plan B, she can't rely on power game all the time, let's see what's she got at the AO, her draw ain't bad
@Be You indeed, but with French players, you never know. We had so much potential with great players but mental wise, we've always had some trouble. Tsonga, gasquet, Garcia, all players superb players with great game, but never finishes the job which is always having those semi-finals and finals done at their best. We'll see, I got high hopes!
Quality tennis. Steady, consistent display of tennis intelligence from Belinda. Great win. About time she starts winning against important opponents. Garcia didn't play badly. She played at a high standard, which would've been enough to secure a victory against many other top players. But this day she was simply outplayed by a player who lifted the level of her game intelligence. A wonderful win, and confidence booster, for Belinda. Congratulations!
Great win for Bencic, she’s in excellent form. Garcia has to adapt quicker when her super aggressive style of standing a metre inside the baseline isn’t working. Players are figuring it out now. However, Garcia has a very easy draw at AO so she has a good shot at winning it.
Excellent match! Both ladies ripping winners and BB was able make a comeback after Carolines comeback. Compliments to both ladies. I don't think either took much time off for the last 2 months, they were hitting pretty well.
Garcia is arguably the highest level in the last few years. However, in today's match, it would have been better for her to topspin from the back of the baseline like Iga, rather than fast attack from the inside of the baseline. I think it's her challenge to be able to change her playing style flexibly depending on her opponents and situations.
@Be You Yes she was. I watched some of her matches from the early days recently and she was a lot more aggressive. Glad to see she's playing more aggressively again.
She was aggressive back in her early days when she won the Cincinnati masters (her only master 1000 I suppose) and in the USO 19,from there she kinda fell off
Both played superb. Caro firing 11 aces and Bencic answering back with 9 aces. Both demonstrated masterclass of serving and receiving. They both showed how good tennis players they are. They both in fact were deserving winners, but sadly only Bencic won. This match was 50/50. Anyone could have won this match. Belinda Bencic simply forced Caro to make those mistakes with her brilliant tennis. She was patient and despite not being able to save any break points, she still won this match. What guts Bencic have. She is so awesome. Congratulations Bencic on winning this match. Go get the tittle. You can do it.
Belinda arrasou, fantástico.Caroline não voou dessa vez,foi pro hangar.Amei Beco mil beijos, adoro qdo ganha das supostas preferidas para o título, vamos!!
Both Belinda and Caroline are my dark horse picks for the Aussie Open. Iga seems to be a little off to start her season, so these two really have a great chance to come through.
@Aldrine Laurian amazing how she still hasn't won a Slam yet,can she do it this year? At least time is still on her side, but it's going to be tough with so many other players equally hungry for their first Slam title like Sakkari,Pegula and Jabeur, and all 3 of them are in their late twenties and they are all in a hurry to win it before it's too late!😂
@Eyeofthetiger yes it’s true! But I said it before and I will say it again, Belinda Bencic is unbeatable if she’s at the top of her game and in top form.💪😊
Hahaha...but you left out the darkest horse of all,Emma, who incidentally had beaten both of these ladies, one in straight sets when she was still a qualifier!😅
I think that's Garcia not playing with all her potential..Bencic also to some extent.the two players raise the bar in the third set...I think Garcia accept the situation gracefully and have confidence of her manovers.
This isn't a great matchup for Garcia because Bencic loves pace. Rather than trying to hit through her, you really need to mix things up, open up the court and throw in some slower balls, forcing her to be the one creating.
Well, not really, Bencic in her zone could beat anyone, she's very inconsistent unfortunately, Garcia is still one of the title favourites at the AO though
@Weston Meyer I don't think Garcia wanted to lose this or put less effort, as you said Bencic was in the zone, but still Garcia is one of favourites at the AO
@Be You Yes, but the fact still stands that she was undefeated since her loss to Iga until this match. She beat Kasatkina, Sakkari, Sabalenka and Siniakova before losing again. Bencic is also playing very well and nearly came back to beat Iga at the United Cup so this isn’t a terrible loss for Garcia. Garcia probably didn’t want to win Adelaide 2 and then have to play the Australian Open right afterwards anyway.
Belinda played great and so did Caro, but Belinda was not short on the returns and created some fabulous game whereas Caro was inconsistent throughout HER part of the game and the things she didn't think to do.

Great analysis! 👍🏻

Garcia still one of favorites to win the AO
Not a fan of Bencic, but I've noticed that she has a STRONG backhand! She barely misses when she hits that shot! She's got a great weapon there!
Great win for Belinda but also such a good tennis from Caro.🎉🥰🎾
Great job Belinda!! Garcia is definitely not an easy player to beat.

I love Garcia. She's so strong and calm and she works hard.
she reminds me of a Na'vi from Avatar
Bravo, Belinda!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏. Belinda está muito firme neste torneio. Está difícil para as suas adversárias...
Great to see Bencic playing more aggressively. She was too defensive and passive in the last few years.
@Be You Yes she was. I watched some of her matches from the early days recently and she was a lot more aggressive. Glad to see she's playing more aggressively again.

Got a new coach, aka the one who ditched emma for a reason (-:

@Einars Dubrovskis How do you can assess how much I know tennis, how long I have played, and followed tennis? So stop calling me names.
@Einars Dubrovskis My favourite tennis racquets are Wilson Pro Staff and HyperHammer. Very difficult to play if you are not capable enough.
@Einars Dubrovskis What is the highest ranking ATP player you have played against?
@Jukka O. Parviainen Iga Swiatek won her first round match you delusional loser. Just admit that you are incompetent in tennis.
@Einars Dubrovskis Hello Mr. Kurnauskis, how is your feeling about today’s match?
Vamos Belinda sigue así hasta el final porque ha demostrado mucha confianza y con mucha personalidad
Two things I like about Belinda her level of play and the way she walks.
Belinda arrasou, fantástico.Caroline não voou dessa vez,foi pro hangar.Amei Beco mil beijos, adoro qdo ganha das supostas preferidas para o título, vamos!!

Absolutely, I agree

Go Belinda! 🇨🇭
Fantastic effort Belinda 👏
Damn....power vs power... fantastic! Many points on less than 5 strokes
close one, could have gone either way, love both players!
Белинда, просто супер!!!!
Super stoked for Belinda. Maybe this will stop thw ridiculous claims that Garcia is the next big thing in tennis.
Bencic showing good form.
Dommage, Caroline s'est fait bousculer par une joueuse qui a bien analyser son jeu, en amont (et ses faiblesses) 🥺
Cry more.
Bencic looking v strong, returns are so good.
Partidazo de belinda y García gana belinda 💪🥎
Yay Belinda! 🙌
Something improved on game style of Bencic. The Tursenov coach enhanced her quality
Well done Belly!💃💪
These two are the definition of baseline stalkers but someone had to be pushed off the baseline eventually!
Two of my favs!!!!!!!
Close game from two in form big hitters.
Great match...bet on Garcia, but Bencic has a ton of experience and can never be counted out.
Bencic ❤️
I think that's Garcia not playing with all her potential..Bencic also to some extent.the two players raise the bar in the third set...I think Garcia accept the situation gracefully and have confidence of her manovers.
What a game!!
wow Tursunov - Bencic let's go!
Belinda is faster, smarter, preattier. There was no way she could lost this game.
О Бенчич заиграла наконец фаворитку обыграла...поглядим что на австралиан она покажет!))
Game Bencic is right! She and Garcia have mad Game!
This isn't a great matchup for Garcia because Bencic loves pace. Rather than trying to hit through her, you really need to mix things up, open up the court and throw in some slower balls, forcing her to be the one creating.
Garcia player without the plan, just beat the ball as hard as you can…
The better play won !!
Good match.
go BB!
When is the next match? The one with Belinda Bencic verses who?
Just don't forget Belinda was an Olympic Slammer....
cameramen always follow Bencic a lot!)
@binkyxz3 Indeed! Still got a feminine looks and form unlike the other woman players in the tours which are masculine.😊❤️
She has genuine beauty.
YAYYYY BENCICCCCC
Garcia lost the game!
WELL, THAT STINKS!!!
lol. But congrats to Bencic.
Keep your head up high and focused, Sweet Caroline.
I think Garcia has a great chance of winning a major this year.
Amazing to think that Garcia has yet to win her first Slam and at 29,how long has she got?
Not a good sign for Caro..
Shocking
Well, not really, Bencic in her zone could beat anyone, she's very inconsistent unfortunately, Garcia is still one of the title favourites at the AO though
Yonex for the win!
Ezone > Vcore?
I play with an Ezone like BB
720p 🙈🤷
Tursunov is hot 😋
Garcia again loss....
@Weston Meyer That's another thing but here she just got beaten by a better player
@Be You
If she did win she probably would have dropped out of the tournament right afterward like Badosa did.
@Weston Meyer I don't think Garcia wanted to lose this or put less effort, as you said Bencic was in the zone, but still Garcia is one of favourites at the AO
@Be You
Yes, but the fact still stands that she was undefeated since her loss to Iga until this match. She beat Kasatkina, Sakkari, Sabalenka and Siniakova before losing again.

@Weston Meyer Isn't this first tournament in 2023?The first tournament since winning the WTA 2022
WTA still a mess. A continuous streak of inconsistency rears it’s head, time and time again.
the 4th vs the 11th ??? where is the inconsistency ? it is not like garcia lost again the 70th...
That’s promising for Swiatek, if their level is this.
